Well I have been trying to lose weight since the beginning of the year. I started Weight Watchers for about the 10th time in my life. But this time it’s different. Before I wanted to do it to be skinny and healthy.. But now losing weight could keep cancer from coming back so now it’s a must.
Back in 1990 I went to weight watchers and almost made it to goal.. But then I quit going and gained it back and more.. But this time I must get this weight off. So far I have lost 35 pounds, but for two months this summer I played with the same 5 pounds.
My last doctor’s appt. was June 28, 2007 and every time I go right before the doctor leaves the room he says keep losing weight it will help with recurrence. I know he is disappointed that I haven’t lost more weight so now after 4 months from seeing him I have to go tomorrow so he that I have lost 5 pounds since my last visit.
I can’t sit and beat myself up I know that but it’s just that same 5 pounds I lost 3 times this summer. That could have been 15 more pounds..ha ha But I know if I wouldn’t have been watching my weight it could have been a lot worse.
So I will go tomorrow with my 35 pound weight loss since Jan 2007 and be proud..

Don’t beat yourself up! You haven’t gained any back! Smile you lost 35 lbs. Iv lost none and have been trying for a month! :-(
Lori – Congratulations on losing 35 pounds! It’s always good to diet and stay healthy and keep your immune system in tip top shape. I wouldn’t fret over a few pounds though. I think it’s great with how much you’ve lost already! Don’t get too hung up on weight being the factor in a recurrence. Skinny people also get cancer. There’s just no rhyme or reason to why some people get breast cancer. It’s maddening! I hope they come up with a cure soon! Good luck with Weight Watchers! You should be proud of yourself!
You go girl, I am proud of you.

Losing weight is always hard. My aunt has been doing Weight Watchers consistently for years and managed to lose weight and keep it off. The goal is consistency. I have battled the same 10lbs for years. I managed to lose it during chemo but gained it back with an additional 5 after surgery. Losing 35lbs since January is huge! Congratulate yourself.
